Meet The Team

Dr. Savannah Mahoney
BScH, DC, CAC

Hi! My name’s Savannah, and trust me, writing this bio feels a bit grandiose. But writing about myself in the third person felt even less authentic, so here goes!

Here are the highlights of my professional career:

  • Bachelor of Science with honours - Acadia University

  • Doctor of Chiropractic - New Zealand College of Chiropractic

  • Certified Animal Chiropractor - International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic

  • Founder and operator of Auckland Animal Chiropractic

Some of the nonprofessional highlights include:

  • Riding two horses solo through Mongolia

  • Camping on the Great Wall while on break from teaching sciences in China

  • Backpacking/hitchhiking through South America

  • Fighting through a separated shoulder and winning a gold medal in BJJ (66kg white belt division, no big deal)

I grew up in Beachburg but have spent much of my adult life abroad. Some of that time was spent traveling, but a significant amount of time and effort went into gaining the skills to help both people and animals (as long as they have a spine!).

This profession was modelled for me throughout my childhood — I have a human chiropractor dad and a veterinary chiropractor mom. They both continue to work and have shown me what an incredible honour it is to serve your community. I’m thrilled to be back and to have the opportunity to build a place where I can help animals and their humans feel and function at their best.

Coa
Chiropractic Office Assistant

Hi, I'm Coa! Originally named Koa, we switched it to be short for Chiropractic Office Assistant. I can’t read, so the spelling change doesn’t bother me.

I’m from California, where I trained to be a protection dog. But due to a medical issue, I had to drop out and spent a couple of years with some rad trainers at Devine K9s. Then Savannah showed up and picked me! Life has been WILD ever since. We flew back to Canada together (which I handled brilliantly, if I do say so myself—I truly am the best boy). And now we live in a tiny house on a lake. Not bad, right?

I have some medical quirks: cryptorchidism (fancy for undropped testicles) means I didn’t grow fully, so people think I still look like a puppy. I’ve also got hip dysplasia (I used to just call them my “funky hips” till Sav came along with all her medical terms!), but it’s not slowing me down. I love running, swimming, and leaping off anything I can find.

I take my role of Chiropractic Office Assistant very seriously. I’ve been here since day one — Savannah picked me up and started the business two days later. (What a silly lady!). My duties? Driving buddy, walking Savannah when she’s stuck at her computer, and starring on her social media. I’m a Cali boy—I’m used to the spotlight.

I’d love to meet you, but if I’m not out saying hi, you’ll find me chilling in my crate with my favourite Kong.
